There are more than 250 species of bumblebees in the world. They are a welcome sight to gardeners because they pollinate plants and flowers while they forage for food. They are also used intentionally with some greenhouse crops. The bees don’t even have to land on the flowers.

 

With so many dining options in Maple Grove, it’s hard to make the daily, weekly or monthly decision of where to eat out. Unbeknownst to many residents, several hotels and other establishments house restaurants with deliciously tasteful menu items right under our noses.

 

Rush Creek Golf Course has hosted an annual Mother’s Day brunch since 2000 and takes pride in the traditional brunch menu.

A Neighbor's Story

We’ll call her D. She lives in Maple Grove. She is your neighbor. She is a mother with an elementary school-aged child. She works, but at an unlivable wage. She gets behind in her rent.

 

May has been declared Maternal Mental Health Month by Governor Mark Dayton. So, in the spirit of promoting awareness and advocacy for this issue, we talked to Maple Grove resident Lisa Cross and Dr. Amy Hammers.

Lauri Miller is a resident and First Lego League team mom. Her husband Jeremy is the coach, and they have two sons on the team, along with six other members they’ve met through friends and school.

 

“My mom and I are the kind of shoppers who only buy something if it’s on sale,” says Miss Minnesota USA 2016 Bridget Jacobs. Jacobs named resale shop Style Encore as one of her favorite shops in her hometown of Maple Grove, for its affordable prices and fashionable pieces.
